How Much Can 2 People Dig Each Other?

Wednesday, April 19, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

Could they be any cuter? Indi loved spending lots of time with her Dad while we were on holidays in Byron. They would disappear together and I would find them both lying on the bed playing. Indigo's favourite game is eating her toes and never one to disappoint, Cam would try his hardest to keep up with the toe eating, but just couldn't quite get them in his mouth. After all that playing, The Excitables would all get into the bed and have an afternoon nap.

I'm lovin' it!!

Every road trip needs a McDonald's break. At first Indigo was very excited to be in the McDonald's highchair but after trying her Dads' Chocolate milkshake, she was like "what's the big deal???" Just you wait precious daughter, before too long you will get to experience the shear joy that comes from a Cheeseburger Happy Meal!!!

A special day for the excitables.

Today is Penelope's brithday. It marks the end of an amazing year for this extra special member of the Excitables.

P - you rock. Indi and I love you very much. Happy Birthday.

We Won!!!!

Sunday, April 09, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

So much excitement in the Excitables household today, we actually won the Safe 'n Sound car seat!! Indigo and I just got the call straight from the Safe 'n Sound head office! Apparently Indigo is now on their office pinboard and we were told she is "very cute." I wonder if this compares with my spot of competition modelling, when I was about 6 I won a competition at Mermaid Beach McDonalds, not sure what I won, but my photo was on the pinboard in the restaurant for a while. My Dad told me I won because I was the girl who most looked like a hamburger!

What we are Excited About - Friday 07 April

Thursday, April 06, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

What we are excited about

> We love a good romantic comedy. As P was recovering from her illness last week (this column went live last thursday night and P came down with a rotten virus during the night and was sick for two days), we fed her some McDonalds for strength (her first meal in 48 hours) and watched The Wedding Singer.

We had a great time - we forgot how good that movie is.

So, we are excited about romantic comedies for their healing power.

Here are our top 5 romantic comedies.
1. 50 First Dates

long way down to....

2. The wedding singer
3. Elf
4. The Perfect Catch
5. Singin' in the Rain

For anyone paying attention, you will notice that a common theme is Drew Barrymore. True, she is pretty much type cast as a romantic comedy lead, but it is a worthy type cast. We only figured out last week that we actually like her.

50 First Dates is our clear favourite - it has everything you need in a romantic comedy. They meet, fall in love via some funny circumstances, and end up together, and it has one major catch in her amnesia and the directors don't cure her at the end. Brilliant.

And just for anyone who thought I was turning soft, I'll have you know that we are working on a heavy metal surf movie at the moment and The Mark of Cain just gave us permission to use their music, so I am not 100% house trained yet.

> Going to Byron. Hello Whites Beach.

> Moving away from Kirribilli and the Prime Minister. He is always coming round to borrow sugar and flour (which is really just a reason for a chat).

> Indigo rolling on to, and off, her tummy. She is better on, than off, but she is learning.

What we are not excited about

> Daylight Savings Ending. We kind of liked saving daylight and don't want to start spending it again.
> Harley Davidson Trike tours in our street - they start at 8am on Saturday.
> Mechanics - can we actually trust their invoices?

Have a good weekend. The Excitables

Dining Al Fresco!!!

Wednesday, April 05, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

Indigo informed us that she was ready to dine Al Fresco last weekend. She dined on the chef's special, Rice Cereal. Indigo admired both the fine china her meal was served from and the passers by. She is an avid people watcher (this is going to cost her when she dines in France).

Concentration is critical to feeding a child. If you crack a smile, all could be ruined! Both Indigo and her Mum knew the concequences they would face if Indigo's Dad saw a "mess." No ride home in Dad's car, and he would have to wash his jeans!

Indigo's Temperature

by Cam, P and Indigo

Every year we hate the end of daylight savings. This year the day bought a little cold snap, so Indi got all rugged up. Indigo's temperature comfort is a hotly (no pun intended) debated topic in our house. Cam is worried about her little hands not being able to pull the blankets up at night and that she will be cold, whereas I am worried about her sweating under the many layers Cam puts on her and not having the strength to kick them off. Anyway, here she is comfortably dressed for an outing, she wasn't too hot or too cold, she was just right!!
