Our Fifth Wedding Anniversary

Saturday, March 31, 2007 by Cam, P and Indigo

Well, the predicament of our fifth wedding anniversary night! After being on the island for a few nights we had eaten, and been eaten, at both restaurants and realised there really wasn't a place to have an amazing celebration meal. We had our Fj$3 an hour babysitter booked and realised we really had to do something to mark the five years. Cam wanted to eat twisties on the beach (shows the quality of the food in the restaurant) but considering we had prepaid all our meals we decided to go to one of the restaurants. The meal ended up being ok, but by far the highlight of the night was when I made Cam dance with me to our wedding song (I make him do it every year). So with no stereo in the room and not even a radio to use the itrip with, we had to share the earphones and we danced on the beach. It felt like Cam was far more lively than previous years, (he is not a dancer) and was really enjoying his dance with me, but he soon let me know that it was just that he was dancing to keep the mozzies off as he had forgotten to put Aeroguard on!! It was a good night and proved that even after 5 years doesn't really matter where we are, we can still laugh!!

The Fun Times of Fiji

by Cam, P and Indigo

No matter what you have heard, Fiji was not all bad. We certainly had patches of amazing fun and a lot of laughs. Pete and Lara made the trip for us, without them it would have been a nightmare. There were moments that set us all off, but one of the funniest for Pete, Lara and I was the night we went to the "good" restaurant for dinner, and a very cute kitten wanted to reside in Cams' lap for dinner. (Pete has photographic evidence of this!) So here are a few photos showing all the good times. We look forward to more holidays with P and L, we will find that cocktail in a piece of fruit!

We're back: Don't be scared

Sunday, March 25, 2007 by Cam, P and Indigo

Well we made it back from Fiji. Heaps of funny tales and some good photos to be posted shortly. In the meantime, enjoy this amazing clip of some crazy divers free-diving with Great Whites and hitching rides on their dorsal fins.

For the music fans in the audience, put your headphones on and wind up the volume as the soundtrack is some classic Deftones + Special Guest from White Pony of which I know we have many friends who are fans. It is worth it - the clip is well sync'd to the music.

Two different habits

Indi now jumps out of the shower, into her lush bath robe and we run out and play; mum leaves the shower and commences her training. Each unto their own.

C'mon, don't you want some face time with me?

What we are excited about ...

Thursday, March 01, 2007 by Cam, P and Indigo

What we are excited about this week:

> Indigo is absolutely killing it in the playground. King of the playground for her age - she climbs like a three year old and digs sand at a level well beyond that...
> Indi had us over for dinner at her table last week - she played host (we gave her the money to buy the Japanese take away) and she showed us how to be polite in Japan by slurping your noodles. So cultured.
> And, Indi can now do the Count's laugh from Sesame Street, One Excitable's all time favourite character!
> Rip Curl has introduced the H-Bomb, the world's first battery heated wetsuit and it looks awesome (view it here). Surf trip to Scotland for surf and scotch is now being planned.
> After years of friends gently sniggering at me for the bottles of hot water that I take to the surf for a shower on the road, I have now been vindicated! Here is an invention that does the same thing - hotjug. Dear friends, my first vindication has been that that when I don't bring them, you ask for them and I see your shifty eyes try to hide your pain. My second is that you can now buy your own - no more sharing.
> Dayne can cook. Really, really well.

What are not excited about:
> Eddie Murphy is not as funny as he used to be. A tragedy.
> Some people have asked for the end of 'citizen journalism' on this site. Those people also live in this house!
