We have now started to try work off the extra pork that we gained in NYC. It is hard to eat well and in between testing all of the 49 Ray's Pizza joints that claim to be the original and the "oversize portions", we have become beefcakes .
The King of the oversize plate was Carmine's in NYC which we went to with Dabs and his girlfriend Rebecca (yes, you read it right, Dabs, our scholarly friend from way back is living in NYC). Even Dabs could not finish the entire thing.
So we are all eating healthy from now on and Indi is moving to Skim Breast Milk. This family is about to change. Big hi to Dave and Rebecca in NYC. It was good to catch up with you and to reminiss about the days of "its a lockout".
New Yorkers and Indi have found a mutual admiration for each other. They are equally entertained by one another. We have missed many lifts, green lights and turns in the line because of conversations between Indigo and a by-stander. The stranger "oohs and ahhs" at Indigo as Indigo flashes her 2 pearly whites.
It seems New Yorkers are much more relaxed with the dress code for babies, as even though Indigo is usually dressed in head-to-toe pink, we still get asked a lot if she is a boy?????
We have been on the streets a bit and we have had over 100 comments on Indigo. Everyone wants to stop and talk to her. It is really insane. Homeless people. Business people. Shop staff.
Today P was told by the staff at the GAP that Indi belonged on one of their walls.
All of this attention is good. We are certainly more popular than the last time that we came. Don't think it has much to do P and I though.
The three of us have been living it up on Times Square. Indi hasn't slept for longer than 3 hrs at a time, so we are all a little fatigued but having a great time. Don't judge us by the bags under our eyes!
We were worried when a little dude insisted on taking a picture of the 3 of us in front of Dave Letterman's, he told us exactly where to stand and he stepped back and we were expecting him to turn and run (National Lampoon Vacation style) but instead he produced this photo and handed us back our camera!
David Blaine is awesome, however he is a little cuckoo. The Excitables love his magic.
I think this Drowned Alive two hour special rated pretty well on Monday night in the US as it is pretty compelling. Seven minutes underwater in one breath. Here is the full seven minutes. Very impressive that he even got this far.
To quote The Cure (because who doesn't love The Cure, Gus???) "I really don't think it gets any better than this!" Beautiful blue sky, perfect weather for swimming in May and the best swimming partner (well, only because Cam was at work, he is a lovely "excitable" swimming partner too!) Indi and I are loving the convience of having a beach at your doorstep!!
Our little girl is growing up!!! Not only is she now enjoying meals from her new highchair, (not the bath lounge), she also has 2 teeth!!! Both middle, bottom! She chews anything her little mitts can get a hold of.
The highchair has been a hit, both with Indigo and her father. It is on wheels and our new place has floorboards throughout, so Indigo gets a tour of the place most nights. Cam takes her into each room, points out anything of interest (this is usually in song) and moves onto the next room, before coming screaming down the hallway giggling their heads off (yes, Cam giggles), into the kitchen where I am busy preparing a nutrious feast (this usually involves taking the lid off the jar and puting the "mush of the night" into the microwave). Needless to say, we are all loving our new digs.
We're back online After a tumultuous move, we are now in our new house and getting back in to the swing of things. We are not on broadband for a couple more days and are on dial up so there won't be many photos as we don't have the rest of 2006 spare to upload them.
On Sunday, the girls went to the beach out the front for a kick around. We all went for a swim in middle of the day, and they have been swimming almost every day.
Indi's classic little baby pot belly is in full show in this photo whereas the bellies that P and I are growing are bigger so we keep them out of camera.
