FAT

Friday, May 26, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

This tree shows how we feel. We are getting fat.

We have now started to try work off the extra pork that we gained in NYC. It is hard to eat well and in between testing all of the 49 Ray's Pizza joints that claim to be the original and the "oversize portions", we have become beefcakes .

The King of the oversize plate was Carmine's in NYC which we went to with Dabs and his girlfriend Rebecca (yes, you read it right, Dabs, our scholarly friend from way back is living in NYC). Even Dabs could not finish the entire thing.

So we are all eating healthy from now on and Indi is moving to Skim Breast Milk. This family is about to change. Big hi to Dave and Rebecca in NYC. It was good to catch up with you and to reminiss about the days of "its a lockout".

The tough talkin' Brooklyn Indi

Wednesday, May 24, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

Some places rub off on you and within a few days Indi knew that she did not want to take any crap from the pushy boys from Brooklyn.

Just try and push in front of her on the subway now. She'll kick your butt.

Three Special Ladies

by Cam, P and Indigo

Lady Liberty & Ellis Island. Two very humbling aspects on a trup (hello kiwis) to NYC.

Three very special ladies in the one frame. This photo needs no other explanation.

Trying to blend in as a local

Saturday, May 20, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

On Saturday, we thought we might hit the streets as New Yorkers to see what they do on their weekends and to blend in to get a feel for the place.

P really took to the task and did her best to fit in.

A Little Girl In A Big City!

by Cam, P and Indigo

New Yorkers and Indi have found a mutual admiration for each other. They are equally entertained by one another. We have missed many lifts, green lights and turns in the line because of conversations between Indigo and a by-stander. The stranger "oohs and ahhs" at Indigo as Indigo flashes her 2 pearly whites.

It seems New Yorkers are much more relaxed with the dress code for babies, as even though Indigo is usually dressed in head-to-toe pink, we still get asked a lot if she is a boy?????

Hello Ladies!

Thursday, May 18, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

We have been on the streets a bit and we have had over 100 comments on Indigo. Everyone wants to stop and talk to her. It is really insane. Homeless people. Business people. Shop staff.

Today P was told by the staff at the GAP that Indi belonged on one of their walls.

All of this attention is good. We are certainly more popular than the last time that we came. Don't think it has much to do P and I though.

The Excitables Live From New York City

by Cam, P and Indigo

The three of us have been living it up on Times Square. Indi hasn't slept for longer than 3 hrs at a time, so we are all a little fatigued but having a great time. Don't judge us by the bags under our eyes!

We were worried when a little dude insisted on taking a picture of the 3 of us in front of Dave Letterman's, he told us exactly where to stand and he stepped back and we were expecting him to turn and run (National Lampoon Vacation style) but instead he produced this photo and handed us back our camera!

First Class - You get a baby size bassinet, but adult size headphones...

by Cam, P and Indigo

Indi and P flew in First Class on the way to New York and Indi let the whole cabin know that she was excited with plenty of yells.

She had a good time bouncing between mum and her dad and keeping the hosties charmed with
her smiles.

She got a bassinet which was good, but no-one expected this response when she got her headphones.

David Blaine is ...

Tuesday, May 09, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

David Blaine is awesome, however he is a little cuckoo. The Excitables love his magic.

I think this Drowned Alive two hour special rated pretty well on Monday night in the US as it is pretty compelling. Seven minutes underwater in one breath. Here is the full seven minutes. Very impressive that he even got this far.

Another Beautiful Day at the Beach.

Saturday, May 06, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

To quote The Cure (because who doesn't love The Cure, Gus???) "I really don't think it gets any better than this!" Beautiful blue sky, perfect weather for swimming in May and the best swimming partner (well, only because Cam was at work, he is a lovely "excitable" swimming partner too!) Indi and I are loving the convience of having a beach at your doorstep!!

Feed Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, May 05, 2006 by Cam, P and Indigo

Our little girl is growing up!!! Not only is she now enjoying meals from her new highchair, (not the bath lounge), she also has 2 teeth!!! Both middle, bottom! She chews anything her little mitts can get a hold of.

The highchair has been a hit, both with Indigo and her father. It is on wheels and our new place has floorboards throughout, so Indigo gets a tour of the place most nights. Cam takes her into each room, points out anything of interest (this is usually in song) and moves onto the next room, before coming screaming down the hallway giggling their heads off (yes, Cam giggles), into the kitchen where I am busy preparing a nutrious feast (this usually involves taking the lid off the jar and puting the "mush of the night" into the microwave). Needless to say, we are all loving our new digs.

Learning to humour her parents

by Cam, P and Indigo

So, Penelope took heaps of photos of Indi at the beach. 15+.

And Indi is a really happy , smiling, laughing, baby.

But, when the camera light flashed on again for picture and pose # 16, Indi had clearly had enough.

True to form she tried to smile and make P feel Ok, but you can see her heart is just not it in it anymore.

Indi, thanks for humouring your mum! If only I could do it as well as you.

At the Beach

by Cam, P and Indigo

We're back online After a tumultuous move, we are now in our new house and getting back in to the swing of things. We are not on broadband for a couple more days and are on dial up so there won't be many photos as we don't have the rest of 2006 spare to upload them.

On Sunday, the girls went to the beach out the front for a kick around. We all went for a swim in middle of the day, and they have been swimming almost every day.

Indi's classic little baby pot belly is in full show in this photo whereas the bellies that P and I are growing are bigger so we keep them out of camera.
